We spent last week (in between the snow) learning about what makes an effective script. 


This week we are looking at different types of poems and the messages they can hold within them. 


Here is a poem from Daniel Beaty called "knock knock." It is a powerful poem and has us thinking about it long after we finished listening to it.

Room Four/Six Productions Presents

As part of our inquiry unit we have begun to look at what it means to be a hero. We have watched the movie "Stormbreaker" which has shown us how anybody can be a hero. It was also the perfect introduction into how music can add suspense and tension to a movie simply by changing the tempo and beat. 


Now the really exciting part begins! We will be writing our own scripts and creating our own superheroes who will be meeting a community need. We will also be creating our own poems which will be put to music. We will be heading to the sound house at Capital E to create our own musical pieces. 


By the end of the term we will have created our own movie trailers which we will be uploading on here to share. This term is going to be very exciting!

Welcome back for term three!

Welcome back for another exciting term! 


This term our inquiry (topic) unit will be on superheroes where at the end of the unit we will produce our own performances and write our own poems which we will put to music. It is going to be especially exciting because we will be incorporating the inquiry unit into our reading and writing.
